My very first submission for the Urb Loves Threadless competition. An attempt at being both literal and decorative, inspired by heraldic shields, among other things.

this is a cool idea for this comp

that's neat - looks best on burgundy.

the flying notes are killing me, dunno i think its the way they look...other than that, i like the tape to headphones idea.

The music notes do not match with the rest of the style of the shirt. Fix that and you've got a winner.

A quick explanation of the music notes:
the theme was "vinyl, cassettes, & files"; to that end, I chose to represent "files" with the pixelized music notes...thus I was not using anything proprietary (ie, an IPod, or a Windows music icon), but I was still representing "files" in the design.

That said, I can see where some of you are coming from. My initial comp didn't have the files...they evolved into the design.

I think this is a great design idea...I get the music notes...everyone else has been doing stupid IPods - this is much more creative!

i like anything that depicts technology without being "trendy"-- using whats 'it' and 'now'... that's the lameo's way out.

and i agree... wikked on the burgundy

but pretty smashing on the Dusk purple as well...

Why cant these designers drop all that and do something Unique?

I'm really bored of everyone saying they're tired of vinyl and cassetes when its for a themed competition called "Vinyl, Cassettes, and Files"
