It's a very small, insignificant detail, but the dotted outline the Great Lakes actually goes over the aorta, which is weird seeing as the heart is overlaid everywhere else.
Yes, this is not a good color choice, but the design is EXCELLENT. |

I liked it better before I realized they were actual roads. And I wish the heart of America were somewhere other than the deep south. But the image is sweet.

I really like the background color choice - its very mappy. And I think the heart is placed where it is because this way the left edge is roughly alligned with the mississippi river. Graphically necessary because we'd expect to see a line there - and the roads look funny on a map where they cross it. Also its kinda the division of east and west in america, thus the heart should be just left of center - just like it is in the human body.

Great idea, except that it looks politically lame. Meaning that the life blood of America is placed in the mid-west...if that were true I would move to Canada. Thank God for L.A. and N.Y.!!

Its not political. Its the National Highway System. The Blues are interstates and the reds are slightly smaller roadways.
