Are they supposed to actually be a teapot and a tube of toothpaste, or people in costumes? With the eye holes and the appendages, they look like characters at a bizarre amusement park. It's cute, but I'd lose the arms and legs and just stick cute faces directly onto the characters if you want them to look like the actual objects and not people dressed in foam costumes.

If it was a pot and a kettle I'd vote $5, and the toothpaste doesn't look much like toothpaste.

in this case, it doesn't seem to matter much if you can identify the objects--you still get the sentiment 'unlikely friends.' the drawings are excellent. nice job.

I have to agree with nasomagistererat earlier - either it's people in costumes - or its animated bits n bobs. Although i also think nasomagistererat's theme park might be worth a visit ;)

i think it says all it needs to say. it would be more important to identify as toothpaste if the costumes were really that relevant, but they're not, so i don't care. i'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Well, I LOVE how people who do pretty shit designs themselves think they can critise other people's.
How do you know it's 5s for "giggle factor"- it's illustration? Some people obviously like this style? And isn't half the point of this to design something funny, or would you rather see 1000s of emo T-shirts with crying pandas/broken hearts/bleeding wrists?
It's all a matter of opinion anyway.

Okay, I’m lazy so I didn't read all the posts, just the last few, but here's my take... I think this is the greatest shirt I’ve ever seen on Threadless.... I’m not even overreacting... I laughed so hard I thought I was going to shoot cherry-limeade out my nose... I love these shirts that are just plain funny and don’t' have to have some deep meaning behind them.... plus, the animation style adds so much to the humor... it's beautiful in it's simplicity....

Oh, and one more thing...

Should be:

If you're going to leave derogatory posts, at least make it look like you have some basis for complaint... at least make it look like you're smart enough to make fun of someone... spelling and grammar errors in a written complaint just make you look ignorant and arrogant.... if you don't like it, either say something constructive and move on, or don't say anything at all and move on... in any case, MOVE ON....

Back to the point, I think the shirt is positively great... I wish I’d created it... Then I’d show all my friends and giggle like a child and say "Hehehehe! Look what I drew!!!"

People give 5s to T-shirts they think are good overall. they don't "think the drawing's crap, but i'll give it a 5 for 'giggle factor'." wheras, if the drawing was better, they'd think "well the drawing's average, so I'll give it a 3 for 'giggle factor '"
and there's no apostrophe in 5s.
