Just a little fun. Before anyone asks, the Japanese text says "Domo Arigato," and yes, it's spelled correctly. My mediocre Japanese skills ensure that much. :)

Taking a closer look, there is ONE extra "u" character after "mo" that was added by an auto-text program on my computer assuming I meant "domo" as an adjective rather than the adverb, in which there is that one minor spelling difference between the two words (doumou vs. doumo). It's easily fixable, and other than that, entirely correct. If you can't even read Japanese, why post a comment that could swing the tide of some people's votes if they just take you at your word? This is exactly the kind of crap I hoped to avoid with my first comment up top.

And just in case anyone is wondering, I didn't write out "arigato" in kanji because my Photoshop doesn't support kanji. Does that answer all the possible "Japanese" criticisms? Can we get back to the design now?

I like it alot. And if the Japanese text is easily remedied as Allsunday says it is (which I can only imagine it would be) (not that I understand Japanese, but I have a few friends who do, and thus want it to be correct) I see no problem with fixing it, and then it would be a perfect teeshirt.

There are different ways to romanize the "o" sound...which is where I think the confusion is.

It's not that I was really angry, I think it came off a lot harsher than I intended. :) Really, I was just annoyed that he/she was criticizing the Japanese when he/she admitted to not even knowing Japanese. And no, he/she wasn't right, they assumed that the "u" characters were wrong because they know that Japanese uses symbols representing double sounds, meaning "do" and "mo" would make up only two characters. However, there are also single-sound characters, like "u" that are used frequently, so using the logic that one syllable makes up only one character is a common mistake. There's a typo (the extra "u" turns the "domo" into an adjective instead of an adverb), but the Japanese in and of itself is correct.

I knew that as soon as I posted something with Japanese on it, someone was going to have something smart to say about it, which is why I posted my first comment- in hopes of preventing critique on the Japanese, and keeping the focus on the design itself. Sadly, it failed.

Devos- "doumou" and "doumo" are separate words, one being an adjective, and the other an adverb. It really does matter how you use the hiragana. If it were a foreign word, you'd use katakana, and yes, there'd be many different ways you could probably spell it, since that would be romanization. :)

Text placement would look better on the back of the shirt or right under the picture instead of between the two images. It's more balanced with the images closer together and the text above or below the image.

If you draw the man at a side profile, the robot should also be at a side profile. After all, they are facing each other, bowing.
