Design for June's 'If you speak any faster' contest.

Hands spell out 'slower' in American sign language.

Everything about this design is perfect. I'd buy one for me, then some for my friends, and maybe a couple for people I don't know. Simple, clever, sharp, beautifully drawn.

hah, I was about to say this design would mean nothing if not in connection with the June contest. But it would be funny for me to wear because I'm learning sign language. This would remind deaf people they need to slowwww down or I wont understand. Or it would make fun of my pokeyness in doing things in general.
It looks pretty good, even if you did take those hands from text guides. I woulda prefered it in a less drab color combo. I'm relieved you did your homework (signs are correct).

Wow this is brilliant. I know the sign language theme has been done a lot on shirts, but this one is so brilliant and well fitting for the competition you have to get a 4 and buy.

There are many sign language fonts that will spell out anything you type... I have one that looks identical.

Why did you choose to say slower?

The June Threadless com is called 'If you speak any faster' hence the 'Slower' sign language.

clever concept. i would save it for some other time when the design is less binding, anduse a cooler word.

I hate to rain on the parade, but this is simply a sign language font.. I have it downloaded on my computer too. Good idea, but there's not a lot of designing going on there. Obviously, designers need to use fonts, but when it's the main part of (or in this case, the entire) design, there's less value to the graphic as a whole. Nice colours, though. Someone used the same font a while back on threadless to spell 'cool.'
