4 colors.
dark brown - dark on cat, dark on toast
light brown - cats nose, light on toast
yellow - butter
cream - the rest

The toast landed butterside down and the cat on it's feet, just like they "should", but the string around the cat I just do not understand.
I really do like the overall design. I think the cat's face would work better with a thinner line and some whiskers though. That poor cat will run into stuff at night without his whsikers :)

This made me smile. The toast reminded me of MythBusters ;)
I don't understand the string either.
The toast kind of looks like a block of wood right now. Add some texture to make it more bread-like. Maybe use a more subtle colour for the butter - it looks like splotches of paint on the floor instead of smears of butter. And yes, whiskers for the cat.
I do like the colours and concept, so 4.

It's an old joke. "What would happen if you tied a piece of buttered toast to a cat? Would the toast land butter side down, or the cat on it's feet?" It's taking two laws and seeing which one would prevail.

I got confused because if you tie a cloth around cat's waist it continues to fall over and over. Takes a couple steps and falls over on its side. Gets up and walks a little further then collapses again.

the toast needs string then, if ForgottenAura is right. I dont like tan for the cats mouth. Dark brown would look better. The mouth line is too thick. The butter would look much more like butter if it wasn't so bright.

Rather than showing the result, it would be funnier to show the experiment in progress, i.e. the image of a cat falling with toast attached.
Or is that a whole new t-shirt?

it wasnt tied to the toast, it was wrapped around both of them together, this when the string breaks the toast falls out.
