Okay, I might be off-base, but here's what I have been thinking about this: If the octopus is falling from the sky and is going to flatten them, then are the shadows correct? The octopus shadow is behind the men. So shouldn't their shadows also be behind them, to indicate that the octopus is farther forward? If they have shadows reaching out in front, and the octopus' shadow is behind them, and the octopus is 'behind' that in the image, wouldn't the octopus fall harmlessly to the sidewalk, merely splattering them with tentacly guts? To me, it looks like the octopus is going to miss them.

No Rahna, you're absolutely right. It's the first thing I noticed when I saw the shirt. I thought, "Well the shirt doesn't make much sense since it's going to miss them."

The cotopus' shadow would either have to be right smack under the two guys, OR the two guys shadows would have to be flipped around.

Would look even better with figures cast in shadow by the octopus . Maybe have the figures looking up nervously.

Yeah I mentioned the problem with the shadow placement when you posted your WIP...it really does need fixing for the shirt to make sense!
