Yes, it's a tired theme, but you've put a funny twist on a tired theme. How many times have I seen a woman/knife/blood combination? Too many times, I'm afraid. This is a much better illustration than some of the others I've seen.

The girl just doesnt look drawn very well or proportioned. (I know she's a cartoon, it still doesnt look right) Her hair also looks...lazily drawn.
