About my design

by bortwein
The Design is meant to be off centered in order for the Popsicle to be centered on the shirt.

Check my profile for a blog with color demos of the shirt and extras.

i dunno. i like the design alot. maybe make it smaller? i give this a 3.

Nice. I agree with the 'smaller' comment. It feels immense. I like how you dealt with the cord. Many designs that have cord-like elements just have them go off the 'page' of the shirt with no consideration for printing.

I like it only if it's silkscreened in the end (which I assume it would be)

It's an Iron, a melting Popsicle and Some Paper... how hard is that to see?

I like the design. Nice idea.

What, no cherry?

Here's a minor nitpick - the paper that is curling up doesn't match the outline of the iron-on. It should be more narrow at the end that was around the stick. It might not be worth changing. Or you could change the outline of the iron-on to match the paper.

I can definitely tell that it's an iron now. I think that you did a darn good job. And I'm giving you a five.

About the Nitpick about the Paper:

The paper does match up just fine if you think through what happens to a paper shape like that when it is curled up. The edge you see there in the curl would match up with the corner of the pop not the stick. The Paper for the stick would be wrapped up into the curl out of sight.

So in short, the paper that matches up to the stick is not in view becasue it would be contained within the curl itself.

And, by the way, I am NO rocket scientist. I'm just a dufus.

What if the opposite were true? The opposite of me liking this shirt. I think that it's pointless. Gravity and melting issues too. I say 2.

At first glance I thought it looked like a gun.

wow, it took me a while too, only after reading some of the comments did i really get it, i agree w/ ^^^ i totally thought it was a ray gun. Even once i saw the iron and paper, i didnt really get the iron-on concept right away, i just thouht it was melting a popsicle for some reason. BUt i like the idea, smaller is good idea

a popsicle being ironed on to a shirt? Am i missing something
bortwein
   bortwein on Aug 22 '05
Nope, you got the idea for the most part. It's an Iron-on transfer of a Popsicle being ironed on to the shirt.

hey, this is a rockin design! It is simple, colorful, and a fun idea. I realize it's already been judged, but I'd totally wear it. 5$

As an idea for another color, what about an orange shirt with a light blue popsicle? or the dusk purple shirt with a cherry popsicle? you could get a whole series going...

The nitpick about the stick...

i agree that it would be curled up and hidden but should there not be more to the paper cos of the popsicle melting. or is that not meant to be 'the transfer' is it meant to look like the transfer is melting. if that makes any sense
