About my design

by RLicopter
The design isn't great to look at, but I'm new to illustrator so cut me some slack. I'll get some better ones on here once I have access to a scanner and cs2. I can vectorize some raster images and I can start to flow.

I posted it because I'd like to know why I don't like it. I think i need some line variation. Any other suggestions?

Unless you're trying to make some specific pattern, I'd add something to the middle. Maybe I'm missing whatever pattern it is you're trying to convey, but right now it just looks like a random shape made out of birdhouses.

If that's not the idea, you might want to try varying the birdhouses a little. Make a few in the plastic, Wal-Mart fashion? Maybe add birdfeeders in as well? And experiment with colors a little. This would work good on green with some reds and browns thrown in. Just a suggestion. Would also look better centered.

But you really are off to a great start. I look forward to where you go with this.

i really like the idea of this design. If it were centered, and the bird a more detailed outline,. Would really cool vintage/victorian birdhouses be too complicated?

I don't really understand it, and it makes me not enjoy it. I don't like how it's a bunch of birdhouses facing in different directions for no apparent reason- I looked to the title "Audubon-bon" for some direction but it still makes no sense.

I'm a firm believer in design for design sake. Sometimes it's better to not have a profound shirt.

i like the bird a lot but maybe too many houses.

the lines on the houses are too perfect and bland

I like it! "So many birdhouses, so little time!!!!" Needs to be centered, definitely.

When I first saw the bird I thought the birdhouses were there to show the bird's details. Such as the roof texture for feathers. Now that I see that isn't the case, I wish it were.

this just downright confuses me, because where i live there is a town called Audobon and I'm just lost out of my mind!

John James Audubon (1785-1851) was not the first person to attempt to paint and describe all the birds of America (Alexander Wilson has that distinction), but for half a century he was the young country’s dominant wildlife artist. His seminal Birds of America, a collection of 435 life-size prints, quickly eclipsed Wilson’s work and is still a standard against which 20th and 21st century bird artists, such as Roger Tory Peterson and David Sibley, are measured.
