i dont think you need the semi-permanent on the hammer, but i like the design

yeah, the design could stand alone without any semi-permanent branding, but since it's for the conference i thought it'd be appropriate to include it in a somewhat promenent way.

it's also a bit of a play on that even if you permanently smash one cockroach with a hammer... there'll be millions of others to take it's place, a "semi-permanent" solution.

seems like a pretty permanent solution to me for that particular cockroach. i get your point though. you should keep the text on the hammer for the conference.

i prefer the Q*bert style of cussing: @!#?@! but that's just me.

seriously though, since everything else looks so technical and detailed, maybe the speech bubble should be perfectly round (circle or oval) so it matches? just a thought.

yeah, i lean towards the "symbol cuss" too... the "!" has more of a surprised feeling to it. i actually had the word bubble a perfect elipse at first, but for some reason all of the evenness of the shapes bugged me so i made it more wonky. i think it made the shirt too clinical and the wonky word bubble gives it a bit of life.

I don't really like these front/back designs.

that's ok... but thanks for the feedback. care to elaborate though? good feedback = better designs = more cool shirts for us to buy! yay...

+ Great concept.

+ Simple straight to the point.

+ Can't wait to see more also.

- I'm not a big fan of t-shirt designs that are palced dead center. It's undynamic. I'd try to play with the placement more...try and create movement for the eye. May be position the cock roach on the front left shoulder area. And the hammer on the back left shoulder? I know it may eventually date (oh that's soooo 2005) itself but it is 2005 shouldn't t-shirt design placement evolve as well?

- I'd also keep the Semiperm dates/details in the hammer handle.

I know cockroaches are brown, but perhaps consider other colors? I like the monochromatic thing, though. Keep up the good work!

i like the hammer dead center... makes it feel more solid and powerfull, like a monument to cockroach smashing. as for the cockroach, he could go anywhere (as cockroaches do)... i even played around a bit with the cockroach and hammer on the same side.

sp dates and details could easily consolidate into the hammer. my only concern then would be legibility of the smaller type, but i think it'd be fine since everything is in pretty thick bold type.

i could do 80-90% black instead of the brown. i'd stick to natural earthy monochroms though... nothing too loud, i like to keep the colors subtle.

wow. i agree. this is a great first submission. i also like the q*bert profanity over the single exclaimation point. my only suggestion is to maybe add some motion by added some dashed lines traveling up and across the shirt (maybe in an "S" shaped pattern" behind the coakroach prior to the smashing ;P look forward to seeing many more submissions.
