Hi, not much time to leave a description now, will do so later.

Ok, looks like this JUST went up, so here's the real description. Anway, don't take the title to mean anything much- this is supposed to be a really generally allegorical design, not about 'revolution' or 'fighting the man' specificially. (although those are certainly valid interpretations.) When I first started this design I wanted the meaning to be broad- it could be as far-fetched as someone taking control of their eating and losing weight. I don't know. Quitting smoking-- this can represent any experience involving a struggle.

The colors can be whatever- just vote for your favorite via comments. Also, there have been several blogs in my profile about this one. If you want to see a larger version, go to my profile and check it out. Please, again note that the background color is not important, really. Mainly I think light blue and khaki are the best though. If this one doesn't make it I'm going to tweak and tweak, so comments are appreciated! Thanks everyone and please vote thoughtfully.

I love the message behind it.
Not sure I like the placement too too much, seems kind of off to me for some reason... maybe if the hand was more towards the top corner?

I do not like how it is two colors- black and white on whatever shirt they'd choose.

I really think that the hand should be a flesh tone and the figure a wood tone.

Kemmler, I think that this is my favorite design that I've seen by you since I've been here. Of course, toilet girl was a close second. As for the design itself, I think that the strings dangling and on the ground are fantastic. Congrats!

I like the thought put into the idea... not a cliche design at all, however, I think it is too empty... so much canvas, so little art... perhaps putting a stage in the background will enhance the design( and even a touch of color or a duotone). Don't take this a a bad critique... it is a critique which I rarely give to 99.9% of the stuff posted on this site. Keep on truckin.

definitly a good idea, and the puppet is really well done.....but the severed floating hand bugs me, and unfortunatley i don't have any good tips on how to fix it.

i really like the idea, but something about the execution is bugging me-

i think color as kevindujour said for the hand and puppet would help.

there also seems to be too much empty space - maybe you could enlarge the whole image, and increase the angle between the hand and the puppet so it increases the tension and stretches the image across the tee farther, and place the hand higher up in the corner.

Excellent final product. It really shows you've been working to fine tune this. Even if threadless doesn't print this one, you're going to need to put it somewhere else so I can have/wear one.

I'd say ignore the flesh colored suggestions above, for obvious reasons (well, maybe not obvious, but you'd lose a lot of feasible shirt colors if you went with a flesh colored foreground). Besides, if you made the hand flesh, you wouldn't be able to stop there. You'd have to make the handle brown, the puppet tan, etc. I think stick with the whites.

could use some coloring. seems a bit too flat with jsut black and white as it is. maybe some cross hatching (if its allowed)

it's not allowed, I think. I'm thinking of changing the placement of the hand (as in profile) to make it a little... denser?

i woul dlike it if the image was quite larger... and took up more of the t-shirt

i love this!!! i think its a great idea and it's really well depicted. if the image was a bit larger and further up, the hand might seem better placed. either way i like it and i want it, probably on the salmon color or the light blue.

my suggestions:

loose the floating dismemberd hand all together. the hand is much bigger than s/he is and therefore represents another person/power out of the puppet's control. the cross is already part of the puppet, so without the hand it'd be easy to see the puppet as fighting itself. this would also have the nice side effect of letting you place the cross anywhere, so it could be a horizontal design rather than a diagonal one, though I don't know if that would be an improvement.

also, it feels flat: you have 4 colors, I'd suggest using a 3rd (grey) to add shadows to the paper puppet and *maybe* a 4th (light grey) to add a little wood grain (or chrome lines or whatever).

and last, it feels lopsided: center the design as a whole on the shirt, not the puppet centerd and the hand to the left. to clarify the strings would be in the center of the shirt, puppet to the right, cross to the left, like a boxing ring (...and in this corner).

I like khaki and dark blue.

I'd uuse color on the hand and the figure.

i like it best on pink or navy. i really like it, and how it relates to a wide variety of things. great job.

Hmm... 2.8 ... not too disappointed but I'd rather have over a 3. I'm going to resubmit this with changes so don't worry... unless they wanna print it as is. Or just skip the 2nd submission.
