About my design

by hannieo
Inspired by one of my favorite childhood stories, "The Hungry Thing". And some random cartoon I saw when I was probably six.

For the full-sized version, please see:

Copying does not qualify as "Inspired"

It looks like there are two monsters instead of what happened after. Maybe put one in the upper left and one lower right? or one on the front and the other in the back?

^ I think he drew it himself, he was just showing the "full version" so maybe you could see it better?

I like it!

Mad cat, the URL I provided is my creation if that's what you mean.

If you mean the book, This is not a part of the book, it is a parody.

I think it's funnier without the punchline.

I like it anyway, but I don't think you need to hit people over the head with it.

I agree with little hobbit feet. Or maybe if the second frame was on the back. Right now the layout just doesn't work, and the humor is too obvious.

Having the second frame on the back probably would be better. More shirt colours would be nice too.

loose the second monster altogether.

did you redraw that, or just copy that exact image? cute idea.

and white shirt = ick

if you skip the second monster, you could put fangs on the first one as a stronger implication of what's happening.

You could live without the second monster, but if you want it, you could make the first one bigger and put the second one smaller near the bottom of the shirt

I like the two drawings. I would be intrested to see them places differently on the t-shirt. Such as maybe stacked on top of each other on one side, or spread apart more, or something.......

i like it but i dont think the 2nd monster is necessary

How about two panels like a comic book, or just an ellipsis... ?

No white t-shirt, tho.

Sorry I didn't clearly state this:

The URL I provided is the large version of MY drawing, it is not the cartoon I referred to.

far too much on this shirt

I would just put the second one on the back.
FakePlasticEarth
FakePlasticEarth on Jul 10 '05
Or just drop everything except for the first smiling monster, because he is sooo funny looking, and just him would make a great shirt.

I think it'd work without the second monster, although the image is cute. I imagine the little kid reading the sign out loud instead of telling someone else

Fun stuff.

yeah, the kids demise on the back would be cool.

Two monsters take away from the concept.

I don't mind white-reminds me of drawing for fun in a skectchbook.

only use the one drawinhg with the kid pointing, the rest is pretty well implied

I like the second image because the monster doesn't look vicious in it. It doesn't look like he charged, it doesn't look like he is being ferocious, besides the fact that he has feet hanging from his mouth you wouldn't know that he ate the boy. I think this is definitly the kind of monster that would need a sign on it. But I would suggest making this second image much smaller.

somebody stole this illustration from a childrens book (the monster, I mean) , called "The Hungry Thing", or something like that. I've only read it in Spanish.

I think it would work if first monster was on the front and the second on the back

Good, but I'm not sure it works in a T-shirt

i've seen bumper stickers that say 'if you can read this, you're too close.' that means that you shouldn't have it on a shirt. anything you see on a bumper sticker should never be worn by people.

napoleon12: This is a parody on the hungry thing, I stated that in my first comment.
