Dragon Phylogeny

Dragon Phylogeny

About the design

Submitted by sciencegeeks on August 17, 2012

This phylogeny was created using the neighbour-joining method with a trait matrix encoded from historical depictions of dragons (e.g. Raphael, Da Vinci). Each end point represents a different species (i.e. painting or sketch) and the lines show the hypothesized evolutionary relationships among them.

Like it a lot! Would buy the shirt!

Absolutely love it, but I'm a bit confused about where Orientalia fits in? Cos the line from its origin looks to be disconnected.

Wow, what a rally over the last 24 hrs! Thanks all. Ollie - the line for Orientalia is partly rubbed out from the 'weathered' look. Maybe I will tweak that in the final design as well...

cakesama

Please make this without using that font. It would look nice in handwriting, perhaps?
