 We've all seen those Izod/Lacoste shirts with the gators on them; worn by the prepsters across the nations. Here's my take on them; hope you like it. This is how new polo shirts are made.

I have never seen this before I did it. I really dont know what to say. My dad and I came up with the idea while making fun of prepsters from the 80s. idea aside...the art isnt the same. |

Just curious if you have ever printed this design before or made little patches of it. I have seen this design used and sold at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet in Pasadena, CA. Just wasn't sure if you knew about that. If you made this up you should look into it. Good Luck!!!

serious lawsuit potential ... trust me, trust me, trust me, you don't want this to get printed. believe me when I tell you this. print it for yourself, or your friends, sell it at the local swap meet, but don't put it 'out there' on any kind of widespread scale. You will end up feeling like the alligator doing the catching.
the biggest issue is 'dilution' and 'tarnishment' of a famous mark ... the parody defense cannot work when there are strong sexual overtones and the mark is a famous mark. I wouldn't have spent the time on this post if I didn't have first-hand experience with T-shirts and the law. |

other than that, you might put some eyelashes on the receipient croc or it looks like two male crocs. G'day mate.

Wait....what's that gator doing with the other one???? Maybe it would be safer to have just one gator on the shirt....just one gator thinking about gator sex.....no thought bubble...just a hor-nay little gator sitting up-on the shirt....We smart people would understand the message. We would see it and say "hey, I bet that gator is thinkin about gator sex.."

Agency26, companies knock off lacoste all the time (and not even in a Funny way). I really do appreciate your comment though. Im not sure about infringment laws, but hey...we'll see what happens when its scored. Ill post a blog about it, may Shimala or someone can comment on the lawfulness of the design. Thanks

i really didnt rip off this idea, whether someone did it before me or not, my dad and I thought of this. The artwork IS original, I drew it in photoshop, whether the idea was done before or not.
I can see why this wouldnt be printed, but Im fucking sick of people saying I am unoriginal. When I did this I had no previuos knowledge that someone else thought of this. Im not stupid enough to intentionaly submit copied material. As for the artwork, ITS ALL MINE, I did it in photoshop |

well what did you expect when you copied a design you saw somewhere else and submitted it? the artwork is original? what, just because you poorly copied by hand something you saw makes it yours? you're a liar. the alligators are in the same position and everything. you and your dad "thought" it would be great to take the design you saw in any # of places and put it on real shirts. I wonder how many people have put a checkmark on their shirts and then claimed to "think of it themselves" after the fact 8) even if you did think of it yourself (which you didnt) the best way to handle it would be to say "oh sorry, I didnt realise it was already out there, and 10x better looking than mine, I would withdraw this submission if I could - I probably saw it without remembering" |

its a fairly simple design/concept, so its easy to understand that it may have been done before without the designer already knowing.

but now I'm thinking that it's unfair. yes, taking so famous logo is too easy. we are trying to make up new ideas, new subjects and it is more difficult than it you made.... ..and we accept all criticism, sometimes hard criticism. so, anyway, I'll make a shirt with coca-cola logo. [it's so easy finding eps logo online] sorry, I'm taut. |

Thank's 1975, I finally know what that logo paraody is all about. I actually have an embroidered patch of this logo, with the crocs doing it. i've had it for years, and before me, my mom had it since i was born, about 25 years. If i could post a pic, i would. Its a blast, highly detailed and in great conditiom. thanks 1975 |
