Personally I think the shirt would be better without "quoth the raven"
The whole Quothing thing doesnt do it for me.....

i have this shirt already, an image of a raven speaking 'nevermore' and nothing else it's one of my favourites this unfortunately not as good plus there is one to many birds.

JUST THE NEVERMORE. AND PERHAPS JUST THE ONE ON THE BRANCH. WONDERFUL THOUGH!

Jubano on Jun 23 '05
get rid of the quoth the raven and put the nevermore somewhere else, maybe even the back corner
bitterbat
bitterbat on Jun 23 '05
it looks like you've got one eagle and one raven. is it supposed to be 2 ravens? if so, the beak and the wings of the left bird need some attention.
dantomlin
dantomlin on Jun 23 '05
yeah, after submitting it I decided that it looked better without the quoth part and only one raven, but it was too late, so am just going to wait till this one is done being rated and submit a revised one.

Agin with the text.

Hmm.. reminds me of one of my favourite bands, allan parson's project. Edgar alan poe was a genius, and the shirt should reflect that. I would maybe go black shirt, and negative the colour of the crow, etc. Also, remove the text, keep the nevermore, and think of a different font? I might be way off here, but It's still a good idea. Looking forward to a "Cask of Amontillado" shirt perhaps? Brick by brick.. hmm.

I like it... just without "Quoth the raven"

I think all these comments are crazy. I really like the font of the "Qouth" bidness, and the design looks really great on that smaller blue shirt in the corner. Its sweet and I would buy it as is.

it just doesn't have any of the feeling that the poem conveys.

$/5 i like it but agree with the others. lose the qouth and keep the nevermore. really like the font.
alexxpleasedontdie
alexxpleasedontdie on Jun 24 '05
i like it, but get rid of the "quoth the raven" and just put "nevermore", it would also look really good if you put the design in the lower right corner.

but besides that, pshh, i'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Instead of "nevermore", it think it should be:

"Quoth the Raven... CAW!"
dantomlin
dantomlin on Jun 25 '05
Uncle Martha, if I take nevermore off and put CAW! it defeats the purpose of the shirt.

listen to bitterbat.

having two ravens is fine, but just make sure they look like ravens. and watch for sizing, too, because the distance between the two is confusing. compare their heads.

It's really neat. I'd buy it if it didn't say "quoth the raven."

get rid of the text except "nevermore" and move it down a bit, love it otherwise.

zeroes000 on Jun 25 '05
in the poem, the raven is on a bust above the door, not on a branch. i'm sorry if i'm going too literal here, but it's something to consider.
i think the "Quoth the raven" is fine, but I would get rid of the other bird.

just for the Poe reference, have to give it a 5

i like the birds. but no text please.

yeslek626 on Jun 26 '05
I really like this and im really tired of people demanding text be removed when the text is the whole point of the shirt, this is a poe reference and without the text it would just be birds, and what is the point of that? i would however like it better if it just said "nevermore " by itself and not coming out of its mouth. overall: very very cool, i'd buy it
the communist hippie
the communist hippie on Jun 26 '05
I like all of the text as well, but i think the "quoth..." part should be smaller so that it's not so far over. only one bird would be better
citricxacid
citricxacid on Jun 27 '05
agree with everyone else. Just the "nevermore" part would mak e it an amazing t-shirt.

I dont think you need the qouth part of the text. I think just the nevermore most people will get the referance

Get rid of the "Quoth the raven" and I'd say it's pretty neat. Original idea.
redreh
redreh on Jun 28 '05
get rid of "quoth the raven"--it adds a comic element not desired in a shirt based on such a dark poem. also, the word nevermore, so engrained in our heads from its repitition in the poem, must be the bolder one, elsewise the point is gone, as is the haunting aspect that could be brought about.

try again. it certaintly has potential.

that's a nice one. i'd also like to see it without "quoth the raven", or at least see it with those words a little smaller.

I like how the the text reminds me of the old nancy drew book, like myster books. But still maybe just 'never more' I like it :D

What's weird is that I just quoted an Edgar Allen Poe poem while commenting on that last submisson I looked at.
