Those balloons are regular balloon shaped. They just have something printed on them.

I can see a lot of them young "punksters" wearing this shirt with their studded belts and Chucks.
(That's a BAD thing.) The graphic is well done, but not too clever and way too "punk," so you get a 2 from me. |

stuck with pins on Jun 17 '05 i'm not going to try and defend this design. but i seriously had no idea what urban outfitters was and i went to their website. so i'm confused on how this is even remotely like it.
oh and about the comments on how it's not too original. have you ever seen a design on threadless that looked like this? i don't understand why this isn't original when all the designs with guys in suits, robots, and what not are original. hm... just my thoughts. <3 |

...why do skull and crossbones automatically make everyone think pirates? reminds me of poison, death, and goths too. i thought the juxtaposition between that and the little pinkheart girl was more the message of the design, am i wrong?

stuck with pins on Jun 21 '05 yes. thank you. finally some one made sense of it instead of just "wow, balloons with skulls." it was supposed to have more of a symbolsm of death in contrast to love. or also i had thought that it could also have a message that today, children's lives seem to float on death and loss now.
i don't know. take it how you will. but i'm glad someone got more out of it than just "pirate balloons." and yes, the title almost does not apply to the design at all. and i knew this when i made it. hopefully to have people look at the design a little more and wonder why i called it that. <3 |

for the record, i loved the killing tree. the only problem i have with this is that the balloon strings are being held together by a heart. and then there's a heart on her dress. it's just a little too much.
but thats just me. |
