i don't like it at all. to be honost it reminds me of when kip kinkle killed his parents. with all that's happened in our schools i'd rather this shirt wasn't printed. try to be more sensative. call me deranged but i think laughing about kids killing kids or any one else for that matter should be taboo. what's next to glorify kids raping kids?

I'm not really sure that it does confront the issue of "why is killing so taboo" because like Skipper6745 says killing people in most places is seen as quite an anit social thing. It's not really the sort of thing I'd wear on a tshirt.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but when I designed this shirt I didn't set out for it to be recieved with any sense of controversy or divided opinion. Living in the UK, gun crime is not an issue compared to the US, and the connection with school massacres and the like was the last thing on my mind.

But this is no admission of irresponsibility because I do not think this design either glamourizes or condones gun crime in any way. Instead, it was created to celebrate cutting-edge and often controversial / edgy cinema. I wanted to submit a design that would cause a reaction, but more in its subtlety and context. In terms of the latter, it should be seen alongside similar issues raised by films such as Gus Van Sant's 'Elephant' or even the opening sequence of John Carpenter's 'Halloween'. Both raise questions around the throny issues surrounding violence and children, something that society would rather not want to think too much about.

Perhaps I'll hold off submitting my design inspired by Larry Clark's 'Kids'... (!)
