This is beautiful. And it addresses one of my issues with Threadless in that there should be no real "house style". Diversity of design is what makes the whole site so cool, and this is completely different from anything out there.

I like that Jesus has the one up on him because of the wings.

I love it because the style is more original than anything I've seen here so far. Really great.

Now if it's Jesus, that's a different story. But it doesn't look like Jesus as He's usually depicted. For instance, does Jesus have wings?!



And speaking of physical features, isn't Satan supposed to have cloven hooves? This guy has what looks like elongated feet.



Okay, I've changed my mind again. The design is too non-specific in its theology to accurately assess the identities of the two opponents. So I hope that neither entity wins, that instead they will try to see the world through each other's eyes and decide not to fight after all.

Good vs. Evil - the theme of many, many books and films. Why not a tee-shirt? I love it, I'll probably buy it.

I wish I could say that I drew the illustration, but neither I or Jimbo (or whoever did James Mathus's cd art) did the original. It was originally a woodcut done in the early 1800s by a man named Thomas Bewick. I found that main illustration and some other elements, the head, the wings, in a book of public domain illustrations published by Dover called "1800 woodcuts by Thomas Bewick and his school" and composed the final piece for the shirt. If you get a chance you should find the book, it has thousands of fantastic images, all free for public use. Sorry Tammy for the confusion, but thanks for turning me onto James Mathus. I had no idea he was a fellow Mississippian. What a small world. But while we're plugging, you should listen to anything by Chris Whitley. simply fantastic.

I love the woodcut style and the idea is classic. I'm not sure that I like the drab green that it's printed on but otherwise I'd most definately want to buy it.
