speaking of amen, what's up with the fancy cross in the background? between that and the all black clothes the dude's wearing (looks like he could be a priest), this design takes ona subtly religious tone, which creates some confusion with what religion has to do with psychiatry. are catholics against psychiatry? (you don't have to answer that; i was just exploring that train of thought as far as it'd go...)

the cross, or whatever you want to call that cross-like thing is actually the symbol Scientology uses to represent itself, similar to Christianity and the regular cross, or Judaism and the Star of David, so that's why it's there. I guess the design could work without it, eh?

Yeah, the relgious feelings take over this shirt.



Also (nitpicking) psychiatry has to do more with drugs than talking, which the couch links to. If you would rather use psychiatry than psychology, perhaps go with pills instead of the couch? Otherwise, I'd go with psychology. Psychiatrists are actual doctors who (yes) can perform therapy, but, in practice, usually just do the perscribing.

Ok, well, the reason it says what it says is because Tom Cruise actually said it. Not exactly like that but I paraphrased what he said in a recent interview to fit it on the couch. And the reason he's jumping on the couch is .. well.. because thats exactly what he did a week ago on Oprah :)

I tihnk this shirt is wicked cool... I like it in gray... it definitely makes sense once explained... I just think not everyone might get it... which kind of makes it even cooler because you can probably make a lot of new friends when they all wonder what the exact meaning of your shirt is! Rock on operator dude.

I like this in dark blue and grey. Haha, I saw him act crazy on Oprah, too. He kept going down on one knee and kissing her hand too. Interesting source of inspiration.

hmm. i'd buy it in dark gray--even though i'm a huge fan of the magical talking cure/'better living through chemistry' approach to life's temporary setbacks. you're obviously such a good designer how 'bout coming up with a uniquely u. teeshirt design, too, a bumper sticker, an official seal/decal & hmm, perhaps a snappier website home page. =)

yup new crazy tom cruise is a lot more fun than boring old tom cruise. the scientology is really starting to make life more interesting for him. very super cool concept (and oh so topical), but something bothers me about the design..what, i don't know..i like it is dark blue. you said you paraphrased. what did he actually say?

I don't think I'd buy it because I'd become frustrated the 30th time I had to explain it to a friend, but a 5 nonetheless. Brilliant idea. I cannot explain the degree of satisfaction the mental image I have of L. Ron Hubbard rolling in his grave is bringing me.

I saw that episode of oprah! it went like this: (caution spoilers!)



ok tom walks on and the ladies in the audience scream for like 10 minutes straight. then they calm down so tom jumps on the couch and they scream some more, then he sits down and Tom's like "Oprah you're such a kind and caring person to have that legends ball or whatever it was you did. You're just so caring" and Oprah's like "no Tom you're caring!! I love you!!1 UR TEH BEST!!!11" and then tom's like "I <3 Katie Holmes!!!" and he jumps on the couch some more b/c he gets waaay excited talking about her... and Oprah says "Kate is so caring!! just like you!!!" and Tom says "Kate is the best she is so sweet and caring and thoughtful and sweet! I have never been in love like this :D i am going the marry her lol" and then they played like 2 minutes of his new movie and then thay talk about Kate some more, and then I fell asleep.





Did anyone see the "finding your inner sex pot" episode of Oprah? I laughed until i cried.

Idea = great, execution needs work. It took me a while to realize the orange part that has the text is actually part of the couch, too. So funny; but the drawing is a bit weak. I'd buy it if you fix it up!

I figured out part of the problem - the front orange part of the couch should be bigger than the back couch arm, because it is in front, but you have it smaller which messes up the perspective. I know I know it's nit-picking...
