One of the main genres of pulp novels was the detective story. Still gritty and violent, there was also a great amount of tension and mystery, which is what I'm hoping to capture with this design.

Cool!!! I'd wear this for sure! Is the blood spelling out IFC?

needs a bit more clarity, as far as concept.
needs more subtlety as far as graphic.

i love the design of this one, this is perhaps the most original one i have seen yet, you need more clarity in the design as dojo said i kind of cant tell its a gun in his hand

The red laser sight(?) is a little weird. Hard to tell what it is.

this is a very creative design / solution for a t-shirt... a comepent execution, high style and referencing comtempory cinema... follwing the graphic novel theme...mayb too competent for a t-shirt design! greats work keep it up man!

lose the laser sight, tidy up IFC in the back and I'd give it a 5.
Beautiful design, excellent use of colour.
3 the way it is.

Nice sense of light and shape and very appropriate for the theme. I'm tending to agree with the laser light comments above. Lasers don't tend to get broader until they are much further from the gun, so it's triangluar shape reads wrong. I think the text is perfect as is...kinda a little surprise when you see it. Nice work Ian!

For a pulp kind of feel, I would have personally preferred a more classic style gun, a revolver of some kind. And I do believe the lazer sight is unnecessary. Having said that, I love the shadowy feel and tension, and I think the composition works very well. I love extreme light and shadow, and it works exceptionally well in this design. :)

a little 2 busy 4 such a small pic. I like the ifc part. A little touch up, and i say this is could be the winner from what i seen so far.

nice design, but I wouldn't wear it. Too gruesome.

I love the idea, but...I don't know, something just isn't right.

Simply amazing. I Love the fact that the cigarette is smoking more than the gun is. You might want to place it a little lower though, just don't change the art.

i love it but lose the laser.

So the laser was a last minute idea to help draw attention to the gun, but in retrospect, I agree that it takes away from the design rather than adds to it. As that seems to be the consensus from what I have read in the comments so far, if this design is selected for printing, I would happily remove the laser.

perhaps make the gun seem more like a conventional gun. it looks very strange right now.

I'm not much for the blood on the door. I don't know it just looks brunched up and...unnatural.

Woah!

Red, black, and guns! So original!

But it's good for a Red-Black-Gun design.

i think the ifc text should be a little bit more obvious.. i mean, the point of this t-shirt is to advertise them somewhat.. and if people don't notice the IFC text, then it's not really advertising

Lose the laser.
Make the gun a revolver.
Give me some red on the end of the cig.
I like it.

more gruesome than subtle, not really my style

give it a 4 because I would probably still buy it XD

Yeah ... the footprints are "SB" ... Surely that's not just coincidence ...
Anyway, I completely agree with the Rav on this one.
Gorgeous design.

Yeah, Rav definitely nailed the necessary changes for this one (if only I had asked him before I submitted!) I'd definitely make all those changes if this is chosen (but don't want to clog the boards with another submission for these limited changes).

As far as the footprints, the "SB" is completely unintentional, and is just a compression artifact (not a logo, or anything evil like that.)

The smoking laser gun, the cigeratte, the uncertainity of what's really going on or what happened, added to the grim in the elevator... NO
