by jhkasdf
The idea for this design came to me in a dream last night...

the sun is really powered by love and not nuclear fission, and that is it's secret.

i actually really like the whole text/neg space/color scheme thing, but i wouldn't wear a shirt that said that.

I am starting to understand how this Website works. I can either submit an honest critique of the artist’s design, or turn to witty remarks to help cement my cyber street cred. Well, it looks like nuclear fission, Jesus, and solar eclipses have been covered, so I’m fresh out of TRL quips. I am a big fan of this design. It is simplistic, yet still warrants a second glance to think about the short hippy message. I would buy it. Although…the chubby giraffe on the next page is pretty booch as well.

Secret is backwards to emphasize the semantic and syntactic relationship between form and content. The color choices illustrate the simultaneous power yet subtlety of tertiary color. Reflecting the way the Sun and Love, two symbolic clichés that fall into the background of everyday life, are simultaneously the two most powerful forces in this world that no one could live without. Modern society does not place enough importance on either of these forces. Which have more to do with each other than most people think.

Kinda cryptic, but refreshingly un-pretentious about its crypticness. I like, despite the overwhelming yellow-ness. Five, and I'd even consider buying it.

I'm not a huge fan of the message... and without the message it's sort of just a heart and a circle... so I'll give it like a 3. If you had the same shirt with different wording, I'd probably buy. I like the colors and the design in general.

"a good designer is defined by how little lines it takes to portray an image and idea as a whole" -unknown.

as far as im concerned, you shouldn't have to explain your art, or in this case, your shirt.

it doesn't make me t hink " oh wow, i wonder what that means"

it makes me think " what the fuck?"

its well designed and thought out, no doubt.

it's just no apparel appropriate, in my honest opinion.

save it for a zine.

I agree with your unknown quote. I chose to explain in depth because, unlike you, many people were wondering what it meant and had contacted me. Thanks for the comments...

It feels like a Roxy shirt. That is a no no.
