It was a plastic duck that I had on my desk, I went to scan it, traced it in illustrator, designed a good looking wave, positioned every single duck in the right position and adjusted the size to what I considered perfect. Some of the best and most well known artists create work that may appear as if it took absolutely no thought or time, but that's often not the case. It's not a drawing that looks super complicated, because I prefer shirts with clean and smooth designs.
