i'm actually really proud of this one. i did a more 'perfect' version, but all the straight lines were boring. this hand drawn one is more pleasing to my eyes, and hopefully yours...best on light blue, denim and maybe khaki...?

travis76 on May 13 '05 yeah, i thought the man should be simple/angular like the block too. a normalized (realistic) human silhouette wouldn't work with it...he was in my plan the whole time. i like his cut-out paper look, but i'll take all your comments into consideration. maybe he does need something.....but what....?

I definitely think that the man should be simple and blocky, but he needs to have some substance, like the block. Give him a little dimension (again like the block)

Sweet design and execution. I actually like that the cube is so much heftier than the man...makes the future seem that much more ominus. Nice work.

travis76 on May 17 '05 thanks everybody, glad you like the typography- it's really a challenge to try to fit a sentance into a cube, so i think i did alright. as for the man, if i'm picked, we'll see if threadless'll let me alter his size or shading a tweak.

I think its pretty damn cool the way it is. I like that it doesnt really draw from any monolith, borg cube or any other retarded science fiction movie

At the university of michigan there is a giant cube that you can stand next to, and it's blue, just curious, did you get the idea from that? Just bought the shirt at the wired nextfest, congradulations

Hi. I really like this shirt... like... very very much. In fact I even use the design for a wallpaper at work. But lately something about it has started to bother me. It's where the bottom of the I and T break, and the middle of the H splits on the corner.. Neither of these lines continue around the corner. This bothers me because it doesn't fit with the rest of the cube.
Well, don't get me wrong, I still love it and have requested a reprint. But just wondering about it.. hehe |
