I think you need to make that look more like a hat. I don't know how, but I sat here for about 5 minutes going "what the f*ck is that on his head...?.....oh....that's a hat?"

Nice idea, but I agree with the comments ... I'd prolly buy it if you got rid of the dash and made the hat more obvious (I saw it after a moment, but a feather or a bit more hat on the right side would help).

I definitely thought the hat was a handle, and the joke was something about turning spock into a coffee mug... and... yeah. Interesting concept, but 1) I'm not sure how half a cowboy hat = pimp... and 2) the pun between "pimp" and "beam" doesn't seem to work smoothly enough. *shrug* But that's just me. It's still a hella clever and unique design, and I definitely give it a 4 for that.

I personally don't think that the yellow does anything for this design. A solid-colored hat with a negative-space feather (perhaps with a little definition in white) would be plenty to get the "pimp" idea across. I also agree that a little definition on the right side of his face wouldn't hurt. Rather than having the had and his head curve in and make a "V" shape, why not have them meet further to the right. Also, without the yellow you'll need a little space between his head and the hat.

Overall I think it's a very clever design. Execution could definitely be cleaned up though (I also agree about the dash).

I didn't get it first because the concept isn't immediately clear and the text is kinda small. I thought it said "Pump me up scotty"

I love it, but I'd either nix the text altogether or drop the dash and make it bigger. Maybe put the text on the back? I agree that the hat should look more like a complete hat. I also had to read it a few times before I could see that it said "PIMP me up" instead of "PUMP me up". Otherwise, it's really good.
