as far as the penguin, i'll probably flatten his belly off a bit so it looks like he's actually resting or sliding on it, but otherwise i'm still not sure. that might be all it takes.

You should never state the negatives about the art you do. Even though, deep inside you feel the penguin is not quite right, don't mention it. Which brings me to a question; if you feel that the penguin is not right, and there is no deadline, why bother posting it if you feel you can do better.

Only submit the best, if the best can't be done due to deadlines, hand in what you got and cross your fingers nobody spots what needs to be fixed.

Great job on the signs, looks very realistic.

I think there should be a penguin on the sign and I think the penguin would look better if you made the white belly-part into a simple half-oval, rather than giving it the same contour as the neck. Either that or bring the white part all the way to the beak.

This is an excellent illustration. With a little work it should score really well. Don't pay attention to 'ruen'. In this environment it is perfectly ok to submit a work in progress if you're not sure what's wrong with it. That's what the comments are for. Many heads are better than one.

one suggestion - i dont think you need the 'slippery when wet' text. it doesnt really detract from the design at all, but i got the joke before i read it.

I think having "slippery when wet" on the sign is good, but leave the sign with the penguin off it; as you say, it would look too obvious, and it works well the way it is. Def $.

The problem with the penguin is its chin/neck. It should be a bit rounder; the penguin looks anorexic as it is. So cute, though! (What's all of this Fight Club stuff, b/t/w? Was there a penguin in Fight Club? Wait -- is Brad Pitt a penguin? Be honest.)

the fight club thing is from the name. there's a penguin in fight club that tyler imagines, and it says "Slide".
