About the design
on December 4, 2011
As a boy at I would watch the swallows gather in large numbers on the wires, young and old, preparing for their long journey ahead.
Over the English channel, down through western France, across the Pyrenees, down eastern Spain into Morocco, and across the Sahara. Some following the west coast of Africa avoiding the Sahara, and others traveling further east and down the Nile Valley.
Their departure would sadly symbolised the end of Summer and I would look forward to their return each Spring.
