The ancient Greeks pretty well had a handle on screwed-up families. One of my favorite legendarily dysfunctional households was that of the Mycenaean king Agamemnon, one of the bigwigs of the Trojan War. As told by Aeschylus, he sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia for favorable winds. He was in turn murdered (in the bath) by his wife Clytemnestra, who was finally killed by their son Orestes.

Probably they would have had loads of fun gathered for a modern holiday. . .

I am fully prepared to shell out whatever cash necessary to have this shirt. I would take care of it and bathe in it and we would have a wonderful life together. This is my perfect holiday shirt.
