Inspired on the dutch designers and artists of the "De Stijl" school that developed on the begining of the XX century...
"De Stijl" in dutch stands for "The Style"

TXT quoted:
"The De Stijl - (literally, "the style") - Holland (1916-1931). "The new plastic art can only be based on the abstraction of all form and color, i.e. the straight line and the clear."

PS: There's absolutely no copyrighted materials used, nor ideas copied...

Cheers... hope you like this one!

Ever since the White Stripes used DeStijl as a cover for their album of the same name it takes on a whole new ownership. Or at least that will be the first thing folks will think of i.e. the band is more widely known that that art movement. But all in all cool design. Way to bring the purity.

man, I got YELLED at for trying to make a minimalist shirt, but this one isn't really minimalist... no props for ripping off mondrian, but some props for redoing it. Anyway, decent but nothing special.

i think its cool. i didnt think of the white stripes, either.

neo-plasticism (de stijl) is undeniably cool

Very cool... And very original... Not many people are going to know the real origins of this shirt

I think I'd like it better if the peices hadn't fallen quite so far. Like it was just starting to come apart. Because then you don't have this trail of rectangles down your tummy

Thanx for the comments...

Whitestripes issue: never thought of them while making the design...

auds-nico: When I started with it, I made just like you describe it, but with the trail I kind of create an idea of movement that contrast with the static composition De Stijl like...

Cheers!

Like the idea, but I'm not that keen on the execution

I love this. Classic color space decontructed...thats pretty cool. Now we need someone to do a warm / cool color swatch either on fire or frozen.....but that would be more than 4 colors. The oconcept and use of 4 colors here to do something fun with the image is genius. 4

i love de stijl style , the idea for this shirt is great i think u can play with more ideas though like other versions, also that font isn't the best as the destijl movement was all about very geometric shapes and minimilism.... i have a font called destijl u can buy it for 30 dollars :D

anyways great idea!!!
