According to the almighty dictionary.com Design is definied as "To conceive or fashion in the mind; invent".

Grand concept and application of the brushes...but major point loss for them not being your <b>design</b>

Yes brushes were used, but the concept, composition/ layout, colors, and over all execution is great. It's a design I would like on a T-shirt.

Brushes, fonts, symbol libraries, etc... are consistently being used in the design world. What else would they be created for? Someone designed those brushes for someone to download and use in their own layout.

We all build off of each other. Some are more obvious then others, but we all do it.

I my self am not a brush kind of guy. Buy who is to say that using brushes is wrong? Atleast he put more thought into his design than most on this site. Alot of designs go through a filter on photoshop to make them look like vectors then are slapped on here and for some resaon, they get high scores. I know I have used brushes in the past, for what ever reasons, I'm also sure that most on here that are grading down for the use of brushes have used them too. Should we stop using fonts too? Fonts too are brushes in a way. 5+$

i agree ^^

the brushes are there to be used .. it's not like we couldn't make one, make it a brush, and then use it. but whats the point? if they are pre-made, use them.

I was pretty miffed about the brushes, but I was swayed by more sensible members of the site.

So, back to my initial reaction: BITCHIN'

Hi anavi,

Hey, how's it going? Really liked your style. I'd love to see some of your work printed-up - I sell other people's graphic illustrative work under a licence arrangement. Basically, what we do is print the print, or have it mounted on aluminium backing or encased in silicone. We also print onto a range of other surfaces.

If you might be interested send off an email to grlgoods@eircom.net

Cheers,

Paul.

its one thing to use brushes, but another to use them so rigidly. If he had changed the angle, or even the number or the arrangment of the arrows it would have been work. this just smacks of laziness. sorry.

I like the design, brush use considered. I'd like it more if it were off to the side a bit more

i like this a lot. Using brushes to me is a minimal problem. Its not what you use its how you use it. As long as you are constructing an original composition with it, it is fine.
