My newest submission. I decided a retro yellow design with a toaster appreciation theme.

Hope you all enjoy!

the bread looks like slices of ham
but i LOVE the toaster.
the background is weird, it would look cooler with just a star or bullet or something.

i dont like the colour of the bread. it clashes with the yellow. if ya just got rid of the toast, this would be a rad shirt!

You think I stole the idea from that submission, eye?
dylanpratt
dylanpratt on Mar 22 '05
Re: eyemedikation that design isn't even close to this one, I'm so sick of people tearing down other people's designs because they are similar to others, or have the same drawing style as some obscure website. There are bound to be similarities with so many submissions, so get over it and just appreciate these designs....Alright I'm done ranting just had to be said.

Now for this design, I like how original it is(how did you come up with the idea of appreciating a toaser?) but as other people said the bread could use some work, maybe make them toast lying around like they just popped out?

Haha, do I see some toasts look like CD/DVD's that have been written by this 'toaster'? :-)

Besides that:
Loose the background or clean it up and less toast.

re: Punching the Pope, at 3:27pm on Mar 22, 2005

Next time you bathe, plug in the toaster and take it with you.

I've seen a few of your posts, and you really are an idiot aren't you.

excellent. print it on a gold shirt.

Ah so good, I like toast.

Reminds me of a song my friend made up about toast...but thats another story.

Excellent design, very retro. usually I don't like yellow but this is a very nice hue. Keep the background but maybe consider taking away some toast, it kinda takes away from teh toaster.

Great! 5$

alright, time to pass judement.

eyemedikation: nah, it's a totally different design.
punching the pope: you are an idiot and hence sentenced to lifetime in that same state.
williampansky: clever response. play with the colors a little to keep the bread from looking so hammy. a toaster strudel would have won you more points in my book personally, but so far so good.

Ironically, I just submitted a toaster design about 5 days ago...
I recalled it from illustrative references.

I love toasters. I would buy this shirt, just because it depicts a toaster. Great background to the toaster triumphant on its pile of toast, but I think the toast itself could use some work....It DOES look somewhat like slices of ham.

ohmygod. people on this site have total crap attitudes. if i were you i'd totally report some of these people. how different do people expect toasters to look? seriously. i think it's a cool concept. would be better if you could use more colours to give the toast detail, but kick ass none the less. :)
RaeKuusou
RaeKuusou on Mar 23 '05
i like this shirt. i'd like it even better if the toast was done in the style of the toaster but maybe done in dark brown or gray to stand out from the toaster. ;)

williampansky on Mar 24 '05
Wow Kevyb, your pretty harsh. I am not an English major nor an English critique. So I apologize for my wrong spelling I didn't know it would defile your general judgement to vote my work. Because detail is not on the actual tshirt, but just on this preview. It only shows the closer view. Again I "apologize" for my overlooked spelling error. Why don't you just cover it with tape, and THEN grade the artwork instead of being a pessemistic ignorant, non-submitting, non-purchasing/photo submitting, member of the Threadless community. Ok? Thank you..
kevyb
kevyb on Mar 24 '05
Shut up and buy a dictionary, i can't give u any points cos all i can see is that bloody spelling error.....and why am i ignorant? and i'm not pessemistic just critical.
and when i do finally get some spare time from my busy life within the design industry i will submitt some designs.........without any errors!!!!!!!!

xXxISISxXx on Mar 24 '05
seriously dude, i'd start writin' a few letters.this is harsh. i cna't believe that none of these people have ever made typos! my god it's a friggin' miracle! oh yes, not to mention "Note: If you're going to criticize please be constructive and respectful about it." Gee, that's real effin' respectful. some of these people need a four gallon enema and a knock to the head. i'm glad you stick up for yourself there, some of this shit's uncalled for.

I think your shirt's pretty cool with or without the 'i' and 'a' being in the right place in the detail link on your display photo. now i'm gonna look away, because this pisses me off, and i cna't keep commmenting on your page :P

"and when i do finally get some spare time from my busy life within the design industry i will submitt some designs.........without any errors!!!!!!!!"

hmm... the english language only uses three dots, and more than one exclaimation point suggests repitition of the sentence which would just make you look like a dolt. errors number one and two. asshole.

How can come somebody who uses u instead of you and cos instead of because feels that they can possibly berate someone else for a simple typo. I like your shirt design here I have never seen an image of a toaster that made me feel happy before.
orbie007
orbie007 on Mar 25 '05
Lots of comments and controversy here...bottom line is, this is a great shirt. I do think it could use some more work overall on the slices, but definitely a great shirt. Keep making great designs william and don't let the idiots discourage you at all...

Also, we're giving the shirts a score, not the freakin' spelling in the display...Thanks

FakePlasticEarth
FakePlasticEarth on Mar 26 '05
Yeah, so kitchen appliances and utensils may be seen a little often, but... I think the design is done so well (with the exception of the toast) that it's still good. I would lose the lines on the toast, and make it.. darker maybe? Have it blend in more.

this quite frankly its absolutely terrible. The idea is lackluster at best, calling the execution poor would be akin to calling hitler a little mean, and whatever font you use gives me the runs from my eyeballs. I think you should put some effort into the shirt before you post it up next time.

jesus didn't die for your sins so that you could put out shit like this :-D

gishmi1ish on Mar 28 '05
very cute, but what's with the arrow in the front? Also, I wish it weren't on yellow. I don't think the toast looks like ham-- in the detail it looks very nice and toasty.
