That phrase has been around much longer than En Vogue. It's not the origin, but go watch L.A. Story (released in 1991) for evidence of prior art. Granted, that song is probably the only thing people will think of when they see this shirt.

I thought it was a reference to the ridiculous adverts for Les Mills fitness ("Free your body, the mind will follow"). Or perhjaps I wanted to drop in a reference to New Zealand. Who knows.
