This looks like the start of a child/adult book, if Mitch would agree. I like how you've added "heft" to the beard, also the small details that come forth as you examine it. The mustache lifters, the relaxed look of the animals as they have supreme confidence in their pilot. The hair on his arms, and the 5 o'clock shadow. Genius!

This is a remake of Mitch's terrific SkyJack submission -
Mitch - "If you listen closely, just after dawn each day, you can hear the whistle of his beard streaking through the stratosphere. If a stray whisker lands on your coat, split it with an axe and make a wish - it might just come true"
