pixel art is cool but I prefer it when it's tiny like it should be
nonetheless this is cool, i'd wear it, 4

I would like it even more if it was smaller and I understood the relevence of "Loaf, Quart, Stick"

yeah i made the images on the shirt slightly larger than i'd actually want them just for visibility's sake. but yeah the reference is "a loaf of bread, a quart of milk, and a stick of buttah"...repeated ad nauseum

"I eat a loaf a bread, a pint of milk, a stick of butta/to keep my weight up to knock a sucka to the gutta" - The Artifacts
jon-jon
jon-jon on Jan 21 '05
wait - was it "pint" rather than "quart?" i might have to change that

Great design. It reminds me of a classic Sesame Street clip. A little girl keeps repeating: "A loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter!"

i think i would like it even better if Link from legend of Zelda was holding up the quart . . . like he just purchased it from a magician in a 8-bit cave! NES represent!!!

seriously, i think the design is cool but i don't know if it is anything i would wear personally.

stupid. inside jokes don't work on shirts.
theslyestfox
theslyestfox on Jan 21 '05
smaller, but good nonetheless.
also, inside jokes do work, if you're part of the sub-group who will get the joke.

I think this goes beyond an inside joke. I didn't get the joke and I still thought it was a fun design.

I think it would be a good idea to get away from the joke so you aren't using that as a crutch. It would be a better design on its own without it having to support an inside joke.

The relivance is there without the joke. Bread and 'loaf' Milk and 'quart' I get the feeling that I'm making something, maybe select 3 items in the same object-icon, quantity-text format that actualy make something? Sugar cookies? :P

there was a sesame street skit that went, "a loaf of of bread, a container of milk & a stick of butter." a little girl gets sent to the market & has to remember what to buy & repeats the list,
"loaf of bread. contain'a of milk, an a'stick of butta."

good in the nostalgic sense, but it could be better...

i really REALLY like the pixelatted style but the idea is weak. maybe you should do something more thought out or more simple. like just the loaf?

yeah, this is hardly an "inside joke," in fact my main concern that it was too obvious - i thought everybody had seen that sesame street thing (or whatever PBS show that was). i tried to make it visually appealing cuz i hate it when its ALL about the joke and the work sucks, but that's why you have those 3 particular objects. btw i would have this smaller proportionally on a t shirt, but for the purposes of this gif i made it larger. thanx!

If you could do this with the old CGA colors (black shirt, with graphics in only white, magenta, and cyan) I would buy this.

looooove the reference. such a cool blast from the past, justaposed to the pixelized present. haven't thought about that in a while... i'd wear it.
