Theme: Sports

What would happen if you took a Sumo wrestler and put him in net for a hockey team?
I'm guessing you probably wouldn't score many goals...
The Japanese characters on the left represent (according the web page I used) ice, metal, wood, leather and 'to stop'.

The concept and style of this is so much fun...great details abound, the facemask and kneepads are things of beauty...why hasn't anyone done this in real life, no puck would get by that front fat!

was hoping he would be a soccer goalie but it makes more sense for hockey with the small goals. great details tie this all together. PRINT!!!!!!!!

Many ancient traditions have been preserved in sumo, and even today the sport includes many ritual elements, such as the use of salt purification, from the days when sumo was used in the Shinto religion. Life as a rikishi is highly regimented, with rules laid down by the Sumo Association. Most sumo wrestlers are required to live in communal "sumo training stables" known in Japanese as heya where all aspects of their daily lives—from meals to their manner of dress—are dictated by strict tradition.
