The hate is in your heart, so you have to bleed it out. Its not hard to get this shirt, people.

The design is great; the color of the shirt works well with the black and red.

The blood doesn't have to be photorealistic, its obvious enough that everyone knows what it is.

but just because I can get it so easily doesn't mean its a superb design. The appeal is to those who see blood as an expressive icon to show how emotionally distraught they are. So, really, this is playing on everyone's heart strings. I want to have a heart on there with the scissor design you see on coupons. That would be a much better form. This arrangement is too assymetrical and ill-planned.

I disagree with the notion that the arrangement is ill-planned. I doubt the artist threw this together with little or no thought. And while the arrangement is assymetrical, it would have to be since its referencing the heart of the human body, which is assymetrically placed internally. Also, symmetry is boring and safe. Thats why banks and governement buildings are for the majority symmetrical in design.

I agree that the coupon design would work, but it lessens the idea of hate, the importance of which is central to the design. And of course its playing on everyone's heart strings. Thats the point of expressive art; to look at it and see the emotional intentions.

what if there was a roughly heart-shaped hole where the heart is bleeding then the excess "fabric" that was cut out can be lying on the bottom somewhere, lifeless

I think this is a very cool deisgn. I think you could clean up the blood a bit and give it less of a paint spill look and more like blood. I would buy this.

Blood seems realistic enough to me and I should know, I've cut myself up plenty of times.
