About my design

by PenfoldMerton
A fond tribute to Edward Hopper.

Because coffee and chivalry go hand in hand.

The design uses 8 colors, including black and white/cream. It is suitable for a light or dark background.

Nice work and great concept. I know that you've gone with the easel to break up the boxy feel but I don't think it quite works. Would have prefered it without I think. -3-

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't too sure about the easel, but I tried the picture out in several different ways: on its own, in a frame, hanging on a string, with stretched colored borders, etc.

In the end, none of them looked quite as natural (to me) as having it mouted on an easel. I hope it's not enough to put people off the picture!

I would try fading the edges (without the easel)? Or in like an ornate picture frame? Love how the one brought his mace and lance in w him! Way to Hopper :D

What about using film strip edges as a border? Like a negative or old time movie reel.... just a thought

I agree with the other comments that it would be better without the easel. Maybe it could be a hanging tapestry in reference of the time period?

if there was no easel I would definitely rate it higher-the easel just looks a little strange there
