nice concept. I also did this image but I made her a punk rocker. And her name isn't Rosie the Riveter. The girl on the "We Can Do It" poster was named Geraldine Doyle. I thought I had good idea that may win the contest but since there is two other I doubt it now.

The girl from J. Howard Miller's "We Can Do It" poster was not Rosie the Riveter. Her name was Geraldine Doyle. I'm just saying this because I also made mine design based off the "We Can Do It" poster. I just made mine a punk rocker. I thought about tattoos as well but designed to leave them off since I wasn't sure what tatts to give her.

Dude, as much as i love this design i gotta say that the musical notes are not integrated into the hair shape, i mean, looks like the hair is falling down, and then like a bunch of notes falling down, you know what i'm saying?, like two different elements instead of notes falling down the hair.
(I noticed it was supposed to be hair and notes just cause my wife told me) Cheers! |

Your's is the strongest of the Rosie designs, for sure. I agree with "notes in her hair" issue mentioned above; maybe the music involvement could have handled differently. Still, a super strong contender in the contest.

I love the style of hair, the way your drew in the lines with the bg. Love that.
Your details are impeccable, all of this is great. Looking at the design though, I can't decide what is the focal point. Whats the center of insterest. I would think the face, but it doesn't grab attention nearly as much as the lower hair or the tattoo. find a way to direct the attention to the face if thats what you want. |

Principles Of: there is no direct focal point but I tried to design it with the hair so your eye flows from top to bottom as you can see, the red area with dots, you look at right away and your eye sorta follows the hair down to the notes benig the last thing, not sure if anyone really sees that much into it, :P |

Awesome job, Alex! I hate to repeat what others have said, but being a musician, the notes kinda bug me, because they're not . . . accurate? Haha, I know that's lame. But I guess they stand out from the rest of the design, because it is basically dead-perfect, and they look a little rushed.
Still, a 5 from me. |
