About my design

Taking Fatheed's "reimagining of old images in the public domain", I went on a search and was quite surprised with what I found. Putting together multiple images from the 1800s, I offer this fun belt print design. Check out the detail here.Red on silver or a dark green on sagestone or seafoam.

I'm confused... Are those the original images just pasted on a shirt? I don't think that was Fatheed's point.

Well, looking at his printed design, it is recolored and merged with another one, and looking at "Most Probably Very Dangerous" text was added to the original. This may do very poor, but it is hardly different than those two. If you think otherwise, please explain so I understand better.

I think Fatheed worked with those images in a way that spawns a new concept.

what you and aled did are similar but he took it beyond just putting teh image on a shirt. He took two images and combined them into a third that twisted the meaning of teh original.

yours are simply pasted onto the shirt, maybe if you had had them interact or somehting along those lines it would be more comparable but right now yours is not as evloved an idea as his

i like the images used here better than that toile about you shirt. i like that you were honest about using the domain images rather than make me wonder like some other artists on here do.

I know how you feel, I've come across a good deal of those designs. I just think its ridiculous that I have seen a few outright copyrighted designs get a good number of positive comments on here. It all depends on the honesty of the description, and I bet this would have done much better comment wise, if I had just left that part out. I'm surprised this got pass the first day, having no positive comments.
