i find a lot of your designs lack personality even though the concepts are generally really clever... and it's especially true with this one i feel and i'm pretty sure it's because it's digital.

you should have drawn this a bit more organically... with pencil. you know, like the video.

linework here really needs different widths/weight.

Brilliant idea! If you could rework it in more in the style of the video I would totally snatch it up.

There are photoshop filters to help with smoothing out your lines so they don't look like they were done in Paint. Though, it would probably look better if you just re-sketched it by hand and scanned it in.
