Thanks for the response so far, dudes. I should clarify that I didn't draw the sweet girl-fight image! It's a public domain image from back-in-the-day which means it's free to use.

A continuation of what I submitted for the 2k10 contest: Pros & Cons - the idea for which was to recycle and reuse old public domain images.

I love the combination of old style images, with a bright saturated color like turquoise, it makes a nice contrast of styles and also makes it look like something fresh to wear in the "beach."

This is so fresh. Love the colors and the style mash up. I wonder what the image's original purpose was.

^probably an illo from a penny dreadful - the early pulp magazines with lurid and trashy Victorian fiction. Bit of a stretch for flip-flops but you got it to work, it's different from the typical swirly color designs. 1 cause you didn't draw it :o) 4 cause it works so 5!

I think this is a really cool idea, and I would totally buy it, i would tone down the lettering and the bubbles aren't my thing.

I don't say this often, but this pretty f-ing sweet. I just wish it weren't underwater. Seem like you're stretching the concept to work with the havaianas contest.

Hah! It was never meant to be underwater. Classic Andyg pointed this out before - the white 'bubbles' don't help, I guess. They are meant to be be sort of abstract 'spray' from the impact. I might get rid of that or rework it with the dark blue ink.
