About my design

by CazKing
Analytical Cubism - breaking down forms into basic geometric parts. The subject matter is pretty obvious - we all know this character has an abstract type way of parenting!

I drew this with pencil and then used oil pastels.

Two options one on mint and one on silver grey tee.

Thanks to Manos and Ninth Wheel for the templates.

Adding the Simpsons onto any breakdown of an artistic style is a win-win situation when it's done this wonderfully. Really nice style, i love how awkward Bart's back arm is. Maybe a different shirt color or a way to have the image sink into the tee ab it more? Still awesome work.

thanks for the comments so far!

I tihnk I will put up some links to examples of the design on different coloured backgrounds - maybe the mint wasnt the best choice.

It looks more like 3rd grade art than super abstractness. Work on really stretching their images to the point where one can recognize it, but they dont resemble the actual characters.

Thanks for the advice Mr Jake although I disagree - analytical cubism is breaking down forms into "simple" geometric shapes. That is what abstract is. If that makes it 3rd grade art then so be it. Maybe you should google 'analytical cubism" so you can see what it actually means. Im terms of the characters - I dont think i could have drawn the characters any more differently than what I have - they are angular and sharp and the original characters are round, it's more the colours that are similiar to the original and that is exactly what I was aiming for. But thanks for your opinion.

Thanks for all the comments so far.

I've done some different colour options - the mint tee might not be the best option so I've done some different versions - please take a look before you score or comment!
