Mike Laughhead had a good post a while back about getting your outlines on a transparency that should help. Once you have that to get it to sit with the texture, it's usually a case of having a few copies of your layer and playing around with transparency levels between overlay multiply and normal blending modes. The amount of tweaking involved depends on the complexity or the tonal range in your design. I find (depending on the design) setting a layer on overlay at around 80% with another on multiply at around 10 or 20, then topped with the layer in normal at around 40 or 50% percent often does a decent job of it.
Hope that helps! |
