the brush and bucket really do seem stiff, flat, compared to the bird and paint which are beautiful.

I see what you're saying with the "flatness." I chose the gray tones so they blend well into the shirt and don't hold your focus long, as I want the focus to be entirely on the bird. As for the "stiffness," I'll have to disagree, as there's an active action of paint splashing, which negates any sedentary state.

I agree that the brush looks immobile and stiff. The splashing seems to be happening independently of the paintbrush. I like the paint and the bird though.
