FRICKINAWESOME on Mar 03 '10 hahaha, this shirt does ten times the insulting of modern cliche shirts than earlier meta tees did, it's using the latest in sarcasm technology! Love the changes you've made to so many of these bemoaned and completely brain-meltingly horrid puns and sayings in modern life. Maybe on a different color, but this is one shirt I'd like to fu...um, befriend.

I like the idea, and I think these are funny. My only nit-pick is that in some cases, the subversion is treated as defacing the original art, but in other cases it is clear that room has been left for the new subverted phrase. I would prefer if it was all one way or the other. Preferably if you found a way to show the original cliche and then subverted it in the graffiti/defacing style that you used for Che. Good work though.

Originally, I tried to write the graffiti simply defacing the original art. However, it quickly started looking very cluttered, considering all the original jokes included in just one design. So the best way to keep the design as clean as possible was alternating styles (erasing, crossing out, scribbling, etc). |
