staffell on Mar 09 '10 ^yes it is, but 3KCM was ridiculous, so many of the votes came from outsiders - one time scorers who were just lapping the meme up.
Despite this being the first legitimate plus4 design, it's not really a fair comparison to anything that's gone before because of the low voting numbers. The active blogging community would have made an enormous impact on this design's outcome. A year ago, two years ago, the score would have been much lower, but such is the way nowadays. Not complaining, just pointing that out. Predicamant still holds the next highest score, but I also don't think that would have gotten anywhere near the score it did if submitted today. |

Good point. And if you paid attention, 3KCM had a huge promotion from the Threadless team. I had never seen so many of them commenting on the same design. And almost at the same time, as soon as the design went up for voting.
Not saying this is bad or illegitimate, but I can't help thinking they helped the design get promoted, which didn't happen on this one (i don't think there is a single name in red here). So, in my opinion, community wise, this Circus-Dude is the best ever. |

I think the breaking-4 is pretty much more surprising and exciting than the print. It's really nice to see it come from a design that is not about someone else's intellectual property, and not influenced by ludicrous outside promotion from people who will never return to Threadless. Proof that in the end, creativity and skill still count for a lot |
