i think I'd like it better if it made sense.

The common saying is that "if I had a nickel for every time [something that happens often] happens, I'd be rich." So it implies that you "earn" a nickel each time that thing happens. But if that "thing that happens" was to be asked for and to give away a nickel, you wouldn't increase your monetary wealth.

Maybe all that ^ can be printed on the back. (jk)
