About my design

This one is part of a serie of 2 works I did some time ago and I felt like giving them a second life. Mixed technique. Engravings, naturalist drawings & pencil work, the whole summing up to this. I wanted it to have a weird William "Blakish" edge. Hope U like it.

I'd like it much more without the little girl. She feels tacked on, like she doesn't add anything except the tired juxtaposition of Beauty-versus-Beast. The art is lovely and the main character is interesting and makes a wearable shirt, but the inclusion of the girl brings the design down.

There's ways to give a beast a sense of softness(in terms of graphic design) that don't also detract from its value as a character.
