About my design
During the making of this design i was continually pushed out of my comfort zone and on many occasions thought that it was going to turn out terribly but in the end i was very relieved and excited to end up with what i think is a unique and fresh finish.
As far as trends go I began this design with the desire of producing something hand made using both found and personally constructed materials. I think if more designs embraced handmade elements there would be a much more interesting and diverse range of visual stimulation on threadless. There are literally limitless everyday items that can be instantly transformed into brilliant and beautiful pieces of art given the inspired inclination.
I wanted to use the scanner as an artistic tool. I wanted to utilise the limitless artistic possibilities of a simulated process design. I wanted to embrace mixed media, convey the concept and blend all of the experimental elements with traditional illustration... but most of all, i wanted to drink beer in the name of design:)
