Using blur to create depth, perspective or the illusion of 3d could be an interesting trend to push the limits of T-shirt design. Drunken stupors, dreamy effects, underwater, out of focus, glass and many other subjets can be explored through this incredibly underrated technique.
In this particular case I created an underwater enviroment that compares the blurry ¨fantasy¨ nature of the submarine life vs the crisp, clear image of a more cruel side of the coral reef.
Super duper idea here mang, I could see this even more contrasting but you did such a sweet job with what is here. Great old-school cel animation technique never done on a shirt yet!
i love it! Really a great design and clever idea. I think this sort of nice and simple use of blurring could go such a long way in design trends.
And your flash presentation is in classic threadless flash submission form! Did you do that yourself or did threadless add the little info question mark in the corner and the drag and zoom feature automatically? It totally brings me back.
This is a really neat idea. You must be a scuba diver to have this unique perspective, or else you watch a lot of BBC's Planet Earth. I love those!!!
I have a favor to ask you...I am a researcher with the University of Minnesota in the apparel department, and we're currently surveying people who participate in co-design sites like this one.
We want to know what you like about it and what motivated you to start. If you are interested in taking the short survey, please access it at the below URL.
